Padel tournaments P25 to P2000: the categories explained
In France, padel tournaments sanctioned by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) are ranked by category, from P25 to P2000. The number is the points awarded to the winners for the national ranking.
What the number means
A P100 gives 100 points to the winning team, a P500 gives 500. The higher the category, the more the tournament counts for the ranking, and the stronger the players. The other teams score a decreasing share of these points depending on their result.
P25 and P50: starting competition
P25 and P50 are entry-level tournaments: friendly atmosphere, players discovering competition. They suit levels 3 to 5 on the EsoPadel scale well. The right door for a first tournament.
P100 and P250: the heart of regional competition
P100 and P250 bring together regular, competitive players, mostly levels 5 to 7. Matches are tighter and draws bigger. They are the most common tournaments in clubs.
P500 to P2000: high level
P500, P1000 and P2000 attract the best French players, often ranked. They are fewer and played in the big clubs. Best entered with a ranking and solid tournament experience.
